Anodes

Why we need Zinc

When ever two dissimular metals are submerged in an electrolyte (saltwater) they exchange a charge. They form a battery, where the more noble metal, the Cathode, eats away at the more active, or less nobel metal, the anode. So to prevent your aluminium and bronze from being dissolved, we install an even more active metal to to bare the charge of the other metals.....Zinc.

Linefouling

Doing it yourself

Getting a rope in your prop is fairly common, but getting it out can be a pain. Always make sure you have someone watching you on deck if your holding your breath. Both of you should have a knife. Make sure there are no fish hooks in the mess, if a hook finds you first your in serious trouble. Find tension spots and determine the direction the rope may snap when cut. Move to a point where you are protected from the snap direction, Place one hand on the shaft for stability and make your cut. Most rope fouling wil unwindonce the binding spot has been cut. remove the line carefully, and check to be sure there is none pinched in the cutlass bearing. Check the blades for damage, and pat your self on the back for not having to pay one of us.

Hull Cleaning

dive truck Our company uses only nylon brushes to remove soft growth from the hull. The process takes a little longer than the widely used grill pads, but our customers enjoy a much longer paint life as a result. We recommend 100 day cycles for most boats start 6 months after the boat has been painted. Hull cleaning services for non-racers come with a 3 page PDF typed Captain's report emailed to you after the dive has been completed. in the report you can read about the type of fouling removed from the hull, zinc percentages, blister count, paint life estimate, as well as hardware inspections performed durring the dive. Our hull cleanings and reports are exceptionally thorough to the point that many insurance companies will accept our hull reports in leau of a haul out survey.

Item Recovery

item rec

We have a unique track record for dropped items, in that we have so far always been able to locate and recovery lost items. From keys, rings, watches, money clips, wallets, deck hardware... Our rate for recovering an item is 75/half hour, which is enough time to grid off and comb through an entire slip. We ask that you mark the point of entry on the dock and call us as soon as possible if the item is light weight or in a high traffic area. Please avoid trying to net objects off the bottom, the likely hood of success is very small and it makes the recovery work for the diver much more difficult
